McMansion Expansion

Not even the rise of interest rates have stopped the trend of bigger homes. We can understand the need for living in a larger space, but stretching the footprint of your home from property line to property line and building as large a space as possible seems like such a waste. Especially when the home built is just a "model" on steroids. The resources and money spent on heating and cooling is also gluttonous. But maybe these homes are just a reaction to the larger vehicles we now drive, that Escalade needs room to breathe.
