Recycling Slate Rooftop Tiles for Flooring

slate-roof-1.jpg

From the Building a timberframe home from scratch blog we've found a great posting of how they used scraps and leftovers from their slate roof installation to tile their bathroom and sunroom. With the help of a wet saw they were on their way. This is a great example of finding alternative uses for building materials.

Did they order more tiles than needed and planned the job at the same time? I guess this saves in shipping. I'd like to see a full focus shot of the house - it looks great.
