Carbon Fiber Safety-Toe Work Boots
Won't Weight You Down

wolverine-boots.jpg

There is now an alternative to steel toed work boots. These work boots from Wolverine have a carbon fiber safety-toe and are ASTM-certified. They claim to be 50% lighter than steel and just as strong. They are also non-conductive to electricity and don't conduct heat or cold like steel does. And, because there's no metal in the carbon weave, they're ideal for environments with electronic security like airports or secure job sites. Perhaps it's time to start thinking of Christmas gifts?

Now this is a great idea. As an electrician, I like the fact that the toes are non-conductive. I also think that because the toes won't be as cold as steel toes, these will become very popular in cold weather areas; like here in Montana.

I agree Wayne - I expect to see many more of these boots to hit the shelves very soon and if they prove effective I don't see why anyone would choose steel over carbon fiber.
