American Architectural Timeline

architecture-timeline.gif

This architectural timeline of American homes is one of the best examples we've seen of portraying house styles in context with each other. Each style is also sub-categorized into a larger grouping that is often termed a "movement". Similarities and distinctions are made between styles within the same sub-category which can assist you in identifying the style as well as seeing how that style evolved.

Wonderful overall article! There are some homes in Rosedale of which architectural style I can connect with the Art & Crafts period. I simply love these picturesque houses full of tiny decorations. We have some outstanding fine piece of architectural works which really deserve attention but it still can`t bring back the magic of the beginning of the 20th century.
