Build-It-Yourself: Retaining Wall

retaining-wall.jpg

A DIY retaining wall may seem like a large undertaking, but with this how-to guide from Hometime.com it doesn't sound so bad. They outline some tips for installing the foundation, the first row and, of course, subsequent rows. Interlocking concrete blocks are the materials recommended for do-it-yourselfers.

You'll also find three sample projects outlined: a curved tree ring, a terraced wall and a larger retaining wall. The walls can be used for disguising outdoor appliances or to break up hilly areas that otherwise don't have many options.
