Picture-Perfect Ideas

picture-hanging.jpg

Sure, hanging a picture seems like the easiest of decorating tasks. But as easy as it seems, people often get the process wrong. Using the incorrect hangers and putting unnecessary holes in the walls are common mistakes. Picture nails and hooks are most commonly used, but if the picture or object you're hanging is heavy, it's helpful to insert plastic anchors or bolts that are designed to fasten into the hole.

Also, make sure you've got the right type of screws for your wall type. Concrete screws, not nails, should be used on concrete or brick walls. This will prevent chipping or cracking that can occur. If all that hammering makes you extremely nervous, try 3M hooks with adhesive or removal adhesive hangers. They can hold objects that weigh up to five pounds. Use studs and stud indicators to guarantee that your pictures
are centered.
