Swapping harsh bleaches or detergents for mild cleaning products or CFLs for the energy-draining light bulbs of the past are just some of the easy green improvements you can make around your home. While you're at it, consider changing your cookware.

Concerns are on the rise about the dangers of Teflon-coated pans, as they can emit hazardous fumes when heated to a high temperature without the application of a cooking spray or oil. They can be more expensive and require increased care, but the payoff for healthy food—and a healthy family—is priceless.
