Money Isn't Everything to These Homeowners

1912 Bungalow pointed out this homeowner who lives in the Ballard neighborhood of Seatttle. She recently died in her home which was her final wish as developers had enveloped all of the surrounding property and almost encased her home among concrete walls.

She was 86 years old and quoted as saying "I don't want to move. I don't need the money. Money doesn't mean anything," "I went through World War II, the noise doesn't bother me." As the construction grew louder she just turned up the volume on her TV.

The story of this Ballard woman also reminds us of this homeowner in China who wouldn't give into the developers and instead of building walls around them they literally removed the earth around them.
