Green Building a Garden Shed

garden-shed-plans.jpg

After reading this nice review of our site from Green Gate Ranch Remodel, we took some time to peruse their site and found a couple of great projects that are documented in an easy to follow step by step process.

We especially like their garden shed project which is still ongoing. They've deconstructed an existing shed and are building a new shed to the specs they want while reusing elements of the old shed (very sustainable). During this process they've come across a handy online tool that calculates maximum deck spans for joists and rafters. They found it particularly helpful because they are reusing lumber and as they say "are in the position of having materials that drive the design process, instead of the normal situation where design leads to material selection."

We've bookmarked them and are looking forward to seeing their garden shed complete.

  • That is a really good project from them.

I like the step by step--much better than most instructions you get when you buy things to install!
  • Thanks for sharing this information on a greenbuild storage shed. I just went and checked it out. Very interesting.
