We are all over this feature article from This Old House which highlights 50 neighborhoods to buy an old house. They've broken this list down by house style, communities, fixer-uppers, and location. You can also just cruise through the neighborhoods selected in each state.

What we really enjoyed is the thorough research they've provided regarding each neighborhood, home prices, and why it may be a great time to buy in that area.

Our personal favorites.

Bisbee, Arizona - I've been visiting here since I was a kid and always enjoyed the small town charm and history.
The Shaw neighborhood, St. Louis, Missouri - St. Louis is underrated in many ways, particularly the vast amount of historical homes throughout the city which we recently toured.
Washington, Georgia - We've never been but it sounds dreamy. Antebellum mansions for $350!
Flatbush neighborhood, Brooklyn, New York - Living in a historic neighborhood and home next a great park but also just a few minutes away from the greatest city in the world, what else could you ask for.

  • This is great info about buying an old house and the best place to do so. There are some great old houses in the Houston Heights area as well.
  • I was raised in Victorian Flatbush. The neighborhood is definitely on the rise since the '80s/'90s. My fam loved trick or treating and getting a closer look at these stunning houses.

Cortelyou Road is seeing an up-rise in young couples, small coffee shops and health food stores. I hope the word doesn't get out about this charming neighborhood. I've always thought of returning to my old stomping ground.
