They help determine if the your appliances, automobiles, and other energy sapping equipment are necessary and make suggestions as to how to lower your energy or water bills.

I wonder if an "expert" is really necessary, especially for persons living in small-moderate sized homes. There is so much information out there that anyone with an internet connection and a will to live a greener lifestyle can do this on their own (like me!)

Exactly our point but as with any project its sometimes much easier for folks to hire it out. Kermit is the ultimate green spokesperson!
