Top Chef Doesn't Do BBQ

top-chef-ranch-camping.jpg

On a personal aside, the Bravo reality show Top Chef filmed an episode at our ranch this summer and it aired last night. Great to see friends and family as guest judges enjoying ceviche in the desert (not really). We were pining for primo steaks and tasty beans but that was not what the chefs had in mind.

Laura posted a great sneak-peak of the episode and followed up with a Top Chef summary and some insider facts and tidbits you might find interesting if you're a fan of the show.

The chefs really did have it rough and those outdoor kitchens were truly just an open fire pit and small prep table. The chuck wagon was well stocked but the heat definitely amped up the difficulty level.

Great image! This episode was one of my least favorites because the chefs seemed so uncomfortable -- it seemed more like survivor than Top Chef. I'm all for a new twist and/or good challenge but C'MON.
