7 Unexpected Things at Builders' Show 2010

    swarovski-fireplace.jpg

Let's start with the Swarovski decorated fireplace from Napoleon. Really who needs this? I forget we are in Vegas.

    stagecoach.jpg
Stagecoach - Wells Fargo doesn't hold back

    obama-lighting.jpg
Obama - Our president has his hands full but he took time to promote CFLs at the show.

    bobsled.jpg
Bobsled - Interesting tie-in with Lumber Liquidators but so is Colbert and speed skating.

    builder-hammer.jpg
Builder who can't swing a hammer - This dude was going wild hacking at nails at the Stiletto Tools booth. Said he was a builder. Wouldn't want him touching my house. (note the Stiletto Tools founder, Mark Martinez, watching in dismay).

    geeks-ibs.jpg
Geeks - We saw our share of geeks at CES last week but this programmer from bidformaterials.com was a refreshing change from the usual "sales and marketing" flacks who man most booths.

    elevators-ibs.jpg
Elevators - If trends say we are moving away from McMansions and overbuilds, then why were there so many elevators companies on display?

The technology of choice for many card printing application is the direct to card (DTC) print. Popular DTC card printers come from the Fargo printer manufacturer. This is the common printing for wells fargo bank locations standard identification cards that are printed on PVC plastic. Entry level and many professional level ID card printers provide the direct to card printing capability. This type of printing produces a high quality result with clear color logos and images that have been laid out in ID card software programs.

hahaha check out the guy swinging away...agree totally that i wouldn't want him working on my place...that nail is bent sideways!
guess the elevator companies are showing up in greater numbers because no one is buying them anymore and they need all the exposure they can get!

The elevators may be because while we're moving away from Mc. Mansions, we're moving toward taller and taller townhomes...some folks NEED those elevators to get up all 3-5 stories. : ) Just my guess.
