Margaret Russell Moves on From ELLE DECOR to Architectural Digest

Some big news today in the shelter publishing world. Margaret Russell the long-time (20 years) editor-in-chief of ELLE DECOR will be moving to Conde Nast and has taken over the same role at Architectural Digest. She replaces long-time Architectural Digest editor, Paige Rense who has been with the magazine since 1970.

There are plans to move the Architectural Digest editorial headquarters from Los Angeles to New York and I'm sure they are carving out a spot for them in their future new digs at 1 World Trade Center.

Hachette Filipacchi is losing another strong and popular personality from their masthead who has gone from reality TV fame (top design) to new gigs, a la Nina Garcia previously of ELLE and currently Project Runway.

Margaret Russell will definitely be tough to replace as she was the face of that magazine and did a superb job driving it forward while other HFM titles fell by the wayside (Metropolitan Home, HOME).

Gee. Very business-like pose. Do you see men posing like that?
