Milwaukee Thermal Imager Camera

The coolest (literally) tool we saw at Milwaukee last week was their thermal imaging camera. We thought infrared laser thermometers were awesome but the thermal imaging camera is a serious piece of high-tech equipment.

Milwaukee gave this tool it's own presentation as we walked into a room with a wall size projection of a thermal view of the room. They had an HVAC display which we could use to identify the warm and cold areas of ducts and machinery. But our group had more fun looking at the walls and each other. Think of the movie Predator and it's vision, that's what this camera shows. It will create a heat map of whatever you point it at, showing the hot areas as read and the cold areas as blue with various other temperatures shades of orange.

Husqvarna 562XP Chainsaw - First Look

We've got a Poulan Pro chainsaw that works great and we've only used it for the occasional de-limbing job, so when I got my hands on the biggest and baddest chainsaw from Husqvarna last week I was stoked! This chainsaw is definitely overkill for most homeowners but for the pro user and logger they should definitely consider it.

The Husqvarna 562XP is a new model that includes a lot of features that will improve performance and efficiency that are new to the chainsaw industry.

The new chasis is sleeker and slimmer than previous models and the weight has also been dropped. The distance between the front and rear handles has also been optimized for efficient, comfortable operation.

SOG Paratool Multi-tool Review: Hit Any Angle

We're a fan of SOG folding knives such as the Flash II, but and their multi-tool knives are also built of the same high quality and in particular their Paratool offers a feature not seen on any other multi-tool knife.

Not only does the Paratool feature 15 tools, it also has a multiple angled plier which is extremely useful to access nuts and bolts in tight places. It can operate at a variety of angles from 140-180 degrees. We also love the ventilated grip handles which have a nice smooth texture but don't feel like they'd slip at all.

Porter-Cable is now offering a small angle metal grinder that also functions as a metal cutter. Other applications include cleaning and finishing surfaces and tuckpointing.

Features
The grinder has a powerful 6 amp motor that specs at 11,000 RPM. It comes with grinding and cutting discs as well as two types of guards for both functions that can be adjusted without a tool.
